JAPAN. TOKYO.
おはよう or in other words: Good morning backpackers!!
It is Lea, so glad to be read by you once again!
Today we come with a very important post because guess what... JAIONE AND I HAVE BEEN IN TOKYO.
We have been dreaming about visiting Japan for years, and finally we had safe enough money so we did not think it twice, we just went for it. First we took a flight to Paris and from Paris we went to Tokyo.
The Key to get cheaper flights was going in really "bad" dates, when people are not able to travel because they are whether working or in school. Obviously Jaione and I had school as well, but we managed to take 7 days off to go to Tokyo, since we thought it was going to be a enriching experience and it was worth it.
I think that if I explain step by step the things that we did you are going to get bored, so I am going to do a summary of the ups and downs of this trip and the general feeling that we have had.
It is important to mention that Japanese people are not really good at English, so we had to pretty much communicate using sing language. Even in the young-hostel we stayed in, which supposed to be international, we had a really hard time trying to communicate with the staff. Anyways, Japanese people are very polite and extremely kind, so we did not have any trouble except for the communication.
Japan is becoming a touristic place nowadays, but it is not really famous still, so we did not know really which were the highlights of Tokyo since we had so little information about it, so we decided to explore it by ourselves.
These are the places we liked the most:
1. In first place we have the Sensō-ji temple, which is the oldest temple in Japan. It is really important to be really respectful when you go to such important places for Japanese people because they are not used to massive tourism and they find Occidental people really disrespectful with their culture, which, by the way, we are.

2. Shibuya station is without any doubt the 2nd highlight of Tokyo. It is the most "metropolitan" place we can find in Tokyo, there are high buildings, stores (most of them videogame stores),... that is kind of the "times square" of New York.

3. In 3rd place we have the Tokyo Skytree, an gigantic tower where we can get a ticket and get to the highest place on Tokyo and admire one of the biggest cities in the world. It was really impressive to see how big Tokyo actually is, because even when you are that high you can't see the end of the city.

4. Tokyo has its own Eiffel Tower, well, it is a little smaller but it is still one of the most famous landscapes of Tokyo. It is called Tokyo tower and it is a lot smaller than Tokyo Skytree but it is still worth visiting.
To sum up, those were our favourite places in Tokyo and we highly recommend them if you are planning on visiting Tokyo.
If there are any questions, you are always invited to write a comment and we will respond to you, as always.
