PARIS
Good morning ladies and gentlemen, it's Lea, welcome to our blog!
Last week Jaione and I went on a trip to Paris, most known as the city of love. It was an awesome trip and we spent just a little amount of money doing it.
Firstly, we could not decide between going with the airplane or just taking the train. On the one hand, the airplane is the fastest way to get there, but it is really expensive too. It is true that the plane ticket nowadays are really cheap but we have to take a taxi or a train whenever we get to an airport because they are usually located outside the city, and that takes more or less 40 euros more. On the other hand, the train takes 3 times more time than the airplane, but the train usually takes you to the city centre and it is cheap. Taking all this into account, we decided to take the train from Endaya to the Monparnasse train station, located in the city centre of Paris. The train tickets were about 90 euros per person, an acceptable price for Paris.

Then, we had to make a decision about the accommodation, where were we going to stay? a hotel? a bed and breakfast? a young hostel? Usually, the young hostels are the best option since they are cheap and also a good place to meet new people and have fun, but the young hostels aren't really clean or/and well-located in Paris. So we decided something that we had never tried before: we were going to rent a bedroom to a Parisian lady. At first we did not really know how it was going to be, was the lady going to be nice? Was she going to yell at us if we arrived late?
We got to the house, which was located next to the Luxembourg park and we entered the code in order to access to the building (all Parisian buildings have a code to enter in order to be able to pass). When we arrived the lady was there waiting for us, her name was Amelie and she was a really nice woman. She gave us the keys of the house to be able to enter whenever we pleased, then, she showed us our bedroom and told us goodnight.
Next day was our first day in Paris, we wanted to visit landscapes such as the Eiffel tower, the arc of triumph, Notre Dame,... and we did it ALL IN ONE DAY.
Firstly, we walked around the Park of Luxemburg, then, we went to the Pantheon and explored that part. After it, we walked to Notre Dame and enjoyed the view. We went walking next to the Seine river until we got to the Louvre museum, (which used to be the king's castle).
It was 13:00, the French our to have lunch, so we tried to get away from the tourist zone, where prices are usually really high, and we entered in a French restaurant. We ate a hamburger and a creme brulee for 18 euros each, for those who do not know the Parisian prices: That is kind of cheap for a meal.
Then, we continued our tour around paris, we walked until we got to the Eiffel tower and we tried to get tickets to go up to the first floor. Anyways, when we saw the queue to get the tickets we decided not to go up, it was not worth it.
Finally, and after a day of walking 25 KILOMETERS we went home. Since we had already spent 18 euros with the hamburguer we decided to stop in a supermarket and buy some ham and bread to make 2 sandwiches and save money for the next day.

When we got home we were exhausted, we just wanted to take a shower and sleep, and we did it so. At 21:00 we were already on our beds dreaming about the next day in the most famous city in the world.
The next day we decided to get a metro-day pass because our feet were still tired of the 25km-walk. It was about 8 euros per person but it was absolutely worth it. We took the subway from Port-Royal to Gare du Nord and walked 1 kilometre to Sacre coeur. Sacre coeur is a gigantic church located on a little mountain in the centre of Paris. It is really amazing to see because the church is beautiful and the views from that part of Paris are awesome.
Then, we ate a salad, a steak and a chocolate cake for 20 euros in a little restaurant next to the church. Everything was delicious and the place was so cool.

Then, we took the metro and went back home, but before getting to the apartment we went shopping. Afterwards, we went to Amelie's house and took a shower before going out to eat dinner: it was our last night in Paris and we wanted to enjoy it.
We found an italian restaurant not really far away from the apartment, the pizzas were delicious and it wasn't really expensive: just 20 euros per person and dessert was included.
Then, we googled "where to go partying in Paris?" and we found a Cuban restaurant 500 meters away from the restaurant we were having dinner in, so we went. It was awesome! We must admit that it was really expensive but totally worth it, we spent 3 hours there and we were home, we were completely tired and the next day we would have to take the train back home so we went to the apartment.
All in all, it was a short but really good trip: not to expensive and we had time to see all the landscapes that everyone wants to see whenever they go to Paris.
